Requesting Account Deletion

AllaMusic lets you request deletion of your entire account and all associated data at any time — whether or not you still have the app installed.

1. Open our Contact page at music.elmehdi.net/contact.
2. Select "Request account / data deletion" as the subject.
3. Enter the email address associated with your AllaMusic account, and state that you want your account deleted.
4. Submit the form. You'll receive a confirmation once your request is received.

Requesting Deletion of Specific Data

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove specific data. You can request deletion of individual data types — such as your activity/practice history, community posts, or profile images — while keeping your account active.

1. Open our Contact page at music.elmehdi.net/contact.
2. Select "Request account / data deletion" as the subject.
3. Describe exactly what data you'd like removed (e.g. "delete my practice history" or "delete my community posts").
4. Submit the form. We'll confirm once the specified data has been removed.

Processing Time

We process deletion requests manually and will complete them, and confirm by email, within 30 days of receiving your request.

What Gets Deleted

For a full account deletion request, the following is permanently deleted:

• Your account and login credentials (Firebase Authentication).
• Your profile information (name, email, avatar).
• Your learning progress: completed lessons, challenge scores, streaks, and song sessions.
• Your community content: posts, comments, and wall posts tied to your profile.

What May Be Retained

For legal and accounting reasons, a limited amount of data may be retained after your account is deleted:

• Billing and transaction records related to subscription purchases, kept for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically up to 10 years), and handled by our payment provider (Apple, Google, or our web checkout) rather than stored by us directly.
• Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics that can no longer be linked back to you.
• Records of the deletion request itself (the request email and date), kept briefly to confirm compliance.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing, under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We honor these rights for all users, regardless of location. To exercise any of them, use the same Contact form and choose the subject that best matches your request.
